Ford is looking at the way a car keeps you safe by moving to reconsider a cue from smartphone technology. We're not talking self-drive or even the parking of vehicles here, but cars, talk to one another, and then let the driver know what is what.
Using the same technology that your phone can connect to you about pretty much everyone around the world in you, Ford we are on GPS and Wi-Fi, so their vehicles can see each other on the street. That is, when another car rolled blind spot in your, say, right when you are in the process have been merged into the lane, your car can be warn with visual instructions on the windshield and a series of warning tones.
It may not sound much, but think about it. Right now, cars will talk to other drivers: When a car brakes in front of you, his lights will tell you what makes the driver. The signal is only good if you are really in this area, however. An "intelligent" car would be able to warn you that the vehicle several cars ahead of you is abrupt braking and watch it.
