President Barack Obama, during his visit to the factory company Compact Power in the State of Michigan, rolled on hybrid Chevrolet Volt, the press service of General Motors.

As previously reported, Compact Power - a subsidiary of LG Chem - produces batteries for the Volt, which will go on sale this year in leading U.S. markets.

Constantly using electricity, Volt can go the distance to 500 km. During the first 60 kilometers Volt uses only the charge accumulated in a 16-kWh lithium-ion battery without using fuel and producing no harmful emissions. When the battery is fraying, the motor / generator goes into the extension of the maximum distance of up to almost 500 km on full tank of fuel.
