Incidentally, the similarity with the latter can be easily explained - in order to save the car from the Kalina will share the platform, as well as some details, such as doors. For the same reason it was decided to abandon such things as electrical power, power windows, air conditioning, ABS and front passenger airbag - at least in the basic version of the car.
As previously reported, the sample has passed the technological processes in the paint shop and assembly complex Kalina and is now preparing for the tests.
According to vice president of products and programs AVTOVAZ South Demarchelier, the model should fill a market niche in the mainstream segment of the market of Russia, which is released after it will be removed from the production of VAZ "classic" and the family of Lada Samara. In his view, AvtoVAZ should hold a monopoly position in this segment. According to data provided in the program antikrizinoy AvtoVAZ, price positioning of this new model will be in the range from 200 to 250 thousand rubles.
As the director of the program budget car AUTOVASE Oleg Grunenkov, this project will not require significant investment due to the fact that it will be implemented on an existing platform.

It is planned that AvtoVAZ will produce three models of low-cost.
